An urban framework that puts comfort at the heart of density through walkability, shared commons, and active edges.
The 15 Minute Comfort Neighbourhood is our competition entry that reimagines how urban life can be both vibrant and calm. The site is situated in one of the busiest city centers, featuring commercial centers, retail hubs, and IT corridors. These bring opportunity but also create congestion and stress. Our proposal turns this challenge into an opportunity by designing for proximity, people, and shared comfort.
At the center is a car-free pedestrian spine that transforms the street into a destination. Everyday necessities, from groceries to gathering spots, are within a 5-minute walk, supported by a robust public transit system. A dedicated bike corridor with parking and repair hubs every 200 meters makes cycling the natural choice.
Public spaces shape the community. Commercial commons are reimagined as semi-open hubs for cafes, cultural events, and neighbourhood activities. In residential clusters, shared courtyards serve as communal living spaces for the community. They invite children, families, and seniors to connect in everyday life. Along major transit and pedestrian routes, activated edges provide accessibility, safety, and vibrancy throughout the day.

Life within 15 minutes.
