A 1.2 million sqft masterplan that transforms a stadium complex into a vibrant district for tourism, leisure, and everyday civic life.
For a project of this scale to succeed, the site needed to be feasible, credible, and visionary. Our challenge was to show how a 1.2 million square foot stadium could go beyond being a sports facility and act as the catalyst for the nation’s most significant tourism and leisure destination.
We began by exploring design feasibility and massing strategies to balance the stadium's extraordinary scale with its urban surroundings. Architecture schematic plans explored relationships between the stadium, supporting amenities, and transport, ensuring that visitor flows were efficient and that the building did not stand alone as an isolated megastructure.
The detailed masterplan embedded the stadium within a larger urban framework. Hospitality, retail, leisure, and civic functions were integrated into a connected public realm. Active edges, flexible open spaces, and intense arrival sequences were designed to create a district that is alive on both event and non-event days.
Our work also positioned the site strategically, framing it as a driver of civic pride and international tourism. By connecting design vision with viability and practical urban strategies, we developed a strong narrative for the project that balances ambition with deliverability. The result is a high-quality, stadium-led masterplan that redefines sport as an engine for urban and cultural life.
